What should support workers and services do?

* Be kind and open-minded.

* Do not assume things about people’s identity.

* Ask if they want to share anything—but only if they feel safe.

* Use forms and questions that include all types of people (like space to say your pronouns or name you go by).

* Learn about Sistergirls, Brotherboys, and cultural ways of sharing identity.

* Get training about LGBTIQA+SB and neurodivergent people.

Remember:

Your identity is yours.

You do not have to tell anyone unless you want to.

You can invite people in when you feel ready.

Good services will support you as your whole self, including your culture and identity.

That is what being affirming means.
