Accommodations & Adjustments: A Guide for LGBTIQA+ Autistic People Accessing the NDIS

Accommodations are changes that make things easier for you. They help you feel comfortable, included, and able to do your best in different areas of life—whether that’s school, work, therapy, or social settings. If you are accessing the NDIS, you have the right to request accommodations that support your sensory, communication, identity, and accessibility needs.

Why Are Accommodations Important?

For LGBTIQA+ autistic young people, accommodations ensure that you are respected, understood, and given the best chance to succeed. They help remove barriers that make everyday life harder. The NDIS can fund supports that assist with these adjustments, making environments more flexible, affirming, and accessible.
