IN THIS LESSON
Provide Evidence for Your Application
To receive funding for accommodations, you need to show how they will help you achieve your NDIS goals. The NDIS requires evidence that:
You have a permanent and significant disability (e.g., autism, sensory sensitivities, communication challenges)
The supports are necessary for you to participate fully in daily life
The supports will help you achieve your goals
What Kind of Evidence Can You Use?
• Reports from professionals (e.g., psychologist, occupational therapist, speech therapist, GP)
• A letter from a therapist or support worker explaining why the accommodation is necessary
• A personal statement explaining how the support will help you
• Quotes from service providers (e.g., cost of sensory equipment, assistive technology)
Tip: If possible, include multiple pieces of evidence from different sources to strengthen your request.
